Of late I have learned a powerful spiritual truth. I found myself in a difficult place where I had dedicated a lot of time and energy. It was a dead-end street going nowhere for me. My health had been and was being compromised because of the stress and pressure with no solutions in sight. After months of this, something happened that made me willing to let go of some of the responsibilities.
When I became willing to let go of some things, God came in and took it all in a matter of days.
It was quite a whirlwind trying to discern the voice of God as He was speaking continually during those days and pulling back the veil on things I needed to see.
Once I clearly heard His voice, discernment and direction, it was evident it was time to step down and out.
Sometimes we are slow on the uptake of when “enough is enough.” At key junctures in my life, I have stayed too long ending up in disappointing mess.
Wisdom pulls against the grain of what appears to be grand and glorious. Situations usually aren’t what they seem. When I was young, I stumbled through these life landmines coming out on the other side a bit wiser, but bruised and tattered.
In my older years, it’s a little easier to shake the dust off my feet and move on.
Are you holding on to things you need to let go of?
A sport you have long outlived; a relationship that makes your life miserable; a church denomination that keeps you bound up in the traditions of men; commitments and responsibilities that don’t work anymore, an unhealthy lifestyle?
What do you need to let go of that can change your life for the better?
