Last night I went to a writer’s group and found encouragement and freedom to release the “real” writer within.
Writers are raw, real, transparent and “in your face” about everyday life. I now have permission to be that person.
As we age, we are done with nonsense. Many older people will tell you what they really think even when you don’t want to know.
Our group’s speaker challenged us to put on the written page all God has deposited within us. For me that’s a lot. I have walked in the deeper things of the Spirit and hunger for God for fifty years. I have worked as a psychologist for forty years and lived in the trenches with the desperate and broken hearted. I was given a treasure and kiss from Jesus when He extended to me a paint brush and palette covered in beautiful oil paint, and an amazing art instructor and friend in retirement.
Let us get up and pursue the depths of what God created us to be and do. Let’s not fall short of the purpose for which He created us. Now is the time.
