I have been faithfully writing for several weeks posting every day. This is a breakthrough for me. God has called and gifted me to write, but I would not do it for many reasons–until COVID-19. COVID-19 isolation may have changed my writing career forever.
One reason I refused to write is because of personal exposure of my heart, thoughts, angst, and who I am as an introvert. All my friends would say, “No way–you aren’t an introvert. You are an absolute extrovert.” The truth is I love to be alone reading, writing, painting, and doing all the things I love.
So, how do you tap into your creativity?
The first thing you do is SHOW UP!
If you have a talent for writing, then start writing, and the more you write the more thoughts will fall on the blank page.
What is your creative bent? The more you give it time, the more it will FLOW. This morning I have been writing for hours, so I have been writing as long as the words have “fallen on the page.”
In the wee hours of the morning, when the birds were waking up and glorifying God, I heard His words falling into my mind and spirit. I knew it was time to write.
When you move and flow under the direction of the Holy Spirit, you are “quickened” or “unctioned” by the Spirit to move forward. I have written a week’s worth of writings in the past three hours as words fell on the page.
You can quickly accomplish more when guided by the spirit and being obedient to whatever He is telling you to do. The more I write, the easier it becomes.
When you show up, new things start to happen.
I overcame my hesitancy about personal exposure because we are all in this together–a journey where we need each other.
Show up for your creative gift and let it flow!
Slay your dragons and move forward!
