After my morning walk, I decided it was time to clean out the grass, weeds, and limbs out of the front flower bed. I put on my gloves and got out a plastic garbage bag for the debris.
As I moved into the flower bed, I heard the Lord whisper, “life’s debris!”
I found poison ivy, poison oak, weeds, limbs and a mess. After I finished, I had a bag of debris sitting on the porch. What a nasty mess!
We need eyes to see the “life debris” in our lives if we are ever to rid ourselves of it. Many of us are so stuck in a rut that it’s difficult to recognize truth about our lives.
So what is the “life debris” in your life?
It can be a lot of things. What about old worn out things in your home that no longer give you life. Rid yourself of stacks of papers, magazines, and even books that mean nothing to you. Unload your closet of clothes that are no longer “you!”
Last spring I redid my library, and I had at least one hundred books that meant nothing to me. Out they went!! I have lots of books in a variety of topics, but I don’t need to load down my shelves with reads that are no longer relevant.
Rid your self of your emotional and spiritual baggage. All of us would be better off if we did a deep “house cleaning.”
If we are unable to rid ourselves of the physical junk that sucks life out of us, then we can’t deal with the more complicated matters of the heart and soul.
Identify your “life debris” and do a big house cleaning.
It will be the start of a new beginning.
