As we rethink our lives in the midst of COVID-19, we have an opportunity to grow during these uncertain times. Growth can be a by-product of crisis and change. During difficult times, we learn by experience and a choice to change or adhere to our old familiar ways. Crisis often gives the impetus for motivation and growth. As we trust God through the difficulty, we will see His glory in the midst of our circumstances.
Losses are inevitable in life and our successful resolution of loss will determine our capacity to live life well.
Wonderful opportunities can be forged in the midst of pain, suffering and loss.
The following thoughts may be helpful in rethinking our lives:
- If we are honest with ourselves, there have been a lot of issues that need time to be addressed–now we have time to look honestly at our reality. What’s working? What’s not working?
- What do we need to let go of?
- What are you involved in, or who are you involved with, that is a stumbling block in your life?
- Where do you spend time? How much time is wasted?
- What activities consume your life?
- How important are friends and family? What needs to change in your relationships?
- What is the condition of your faith? Is your spiritual house in order?
- Are you in control of your life? Or, is your life in control of you? (God is ultimately in control!)
- Do you live in fear or faith? Faith helps us take new paths and travel uncharted waters.
- Are you a wellness seeker OR do you only attend to your health when you become sick? What do you need to do to improve your health?
These are only a few questions to ponder when rethinking your life. Write out questions that matter to you and diligently look for answers.
