For the past couple of weeks, I have felt heaviness, sadness, and depression. Like the breath had been kicked out of me.
This morning in the early hours I asked the Lord, “What is wrong with me?” And, He immediately spoke, “heartbreak for America.”
We are all reeling from COVID-19 and trying to make sense of this on a personal, state, and national level. We are angry we have to wear masks and watch every move we make as our nation’s economy crumbles. The physical suffering and dying is devastating as we know people are fighting for life and dying every day.
Our economy was strong at every level of society and people were working, and hopefully able to provide for their families.
College students by the millions were graduating and finding jobs as they entered into adulthood. Young couples were able to support their families.
Then it all stopped!
The heartbreak, grief, and loss we are facing as a nation is devastating. Even though I still try to live life everyday and be “all in”, there is a penetrating grief for America.
Lying, false accusation, and pushing wicked agendas by some politicians and some in the media for their own gain is troubling. Some are so deceived and blind, they are taking America down a path to further destruction.
If there has ever been a time to pray and ask God for help– it is now!
We are broken, sick, and have lost our way as a nation.
Cry out to God for divine intervention before it is too late.
In the midst of all of this, we are in the throes of an election year. This could be one of the most important elections in our history. We can stay on a path, hopefully, to economic recovery and spiritual revival or we can take a turn that leads us down a road of further moral and national destruction.
The people of God need to give Him no rest day or night as we cry out for his divine intervention for our nation. There are powers and principalities of darkness poised to take us down into utter ruin.
BUT, if we pray and seek God, maybe He will heal our broken and desperate land.
