Water under the bridge and over the dam are phrases we often hear when something is behind us.
The problem is our wrong choices, sin, stupid behavior and godless lifestyles can determine how we live in the now.
We have all done things we seriously regret, and we keep going back to God over our lifetime confessing and repenting of things He forgave us of decades ago.
When we live with one foot in the Kingdom of God and one foot in the world, we usually end up doing things that cause us a lifetime of regrets.
Or maybe we regret we haven’t lived our life to the fullest. Maybe we have accomplished far less than we had hoped. We feel like we have little to show for after working all of our lives. Maybe we have serious regrets about our families when they seem to have gone rogue. What could we have done differently?
If we want to live in the fullness of today, by God’s grace we have to be willing to let go of our past. We can’t fix the mess of bygone days, but we can seek God for wisdom to live to our fullest today.
