Dreams of the Night
I have been a dreamer of the night for as long as I can remember. Many of my dreams are in the early morning hours around dawn. Dreams in the Bible always played a significant role in guiding, guarding, warning, and bringing correction. Many years ago, I read books and studied dream interpretation trying to understand my God-given dream language. As the years have passed, my dreams have become more correctional with God showing me places where repentance and change are necessary. A few nights ago, I had a course correction dream.
As we strive to walk with the Lord, we can become tainted by our culture and let compromise sneak into our lives. Satan’s deceptive ways can catch us off guard as we meet our daily responsibilities. We can make subtle compromises that lead and ensnare us into attitudes, judgments/criticism, and behaviors that begin to fester in our spirit and soul. Little sins (all sin is the same) and wrong attitudes can become a lack of integrity.
In my most recent dream, God revealed “little things” that I didn’t see as a problem, much less sin or compromise. He gave me a simple course correction 1) repentance, and 2) change of direction and new behaviors.
The stress and strain of life have a way of wearing us out if we are not diligent to rest and live in the quiet presence of God. Striving to rest has always been difficult for me to understand. When we are walking hand in hand with the Lord, He leads us “into green pastures and beside still waters” where he can restore our soul and give us peace.
Ask the Lord to show you places in your life where you are not walking in integrity and obedience, and He will be faithful to lovingly show you how to repent and make a course correction. Ask Him to give you dreams of the night and the interpretation of your dreams.
