Today was a painting day, so after several hours it was time to shift to something different. Since so many hours were spent writing, I knew I needed to go outside and be quiet and listen.
It’s impossible for me to write if I don’t listen.
During COVID-19, it has been so important to cultivate silence and calm my spirit and listen to whispers of the Lord. Now is a confusing time, so being still and quiet is paramount to our mental health.
What is God saying to you during your isolation?
How have your priorities shifted?
What is your new focus?
My priorities have shifted and been fully reestablished. I am to write and paint.
Prior to COVID-19, I taught women’s Bible studies twice a week in two neighborhoods. I am sure I will continue teaching when life returns to normal, but I will not give up writing. God has been telling me to write for years, and I am finally being obedient. There’s a long story about obstacles that kept me from writing. Mega writer’s block and prior writing disappointments kept me locked down. I have finally broken out of that prison.
Many of you have been so encouraging, I now feel compelled to write. In order to write, I must be still and quiet and pull away with the Lord to listen. It takes hours every week to write which has added a new dimension to my life.
COVID-19 has rearranged my life and time. What about you? Has anything really changed in your life?
For months there has been no need or opportunity to shop or be out and about. I now have no need for those time wasters. Non-mutual relationships have fallen by the wayside as I rethink what’s important.
Cooking is one of my many passions, so now I cook all the time and there’s no need to waste money and time going to restaurants.
How has your quality of life improved in the past few months?
What has God sifted out of your life?
What has God added to your life?
Maybe now you have more time to be still and listen!
