For over thirty-five years, I psychologically evaluated police officers, fire fighters, and sheriff’s deputies before they could be hired for their position. I have evaluated thousands of officers throughout the state. One of my greatest honors was to work with these officers and help them secure a career in law enforcement. Many of these first responders were veterans who had just been discharged from the military.
Their job of protecting the public must be one of the most difficult jobs on the planet, even without this latest outcry against them and their departments.
Do we need justice reform? YES! Do we need reform with police training and departments? YES! But we do not need for police and sheriff departments to be defunded.
They all need our respect and honor, so we need to look for ways every day to uplift their spirits, do acts of kindness, and tell them how grateful we are for their service. Contact your local police department and ask what you can do to bless them. The Chief of Police will know. Go to the department and pray for them. Take them donuts and coffee, write cards and letters, and tell them how grateful you are for them. DO SOMETHING besides feel bad about the current situation.
If you have a neighbor, family member, or friend in law enforcement, show honor where honor is due. Do it now while we still have officers! If our officers walk away, what will become of our country?
Where are our leaders? What side are they on? Are they committed to doing what is right or are they bowing their knee to anyone or anything other than God?
Will men and women of courage take a stand?
