As a psychologist, I want to offer hope and sustaining faith in the midst of the national/global crisis. We will never be able to unravel the mystery of this pandemic and understand the far-reaching ramifications, but maybe together we can discover more meaningful ways to live our lives.
Most of us have been isolated and quarantined in our homes for the past four to six weeks. Our lives have been totally flipped upside down with everything changing overnight. No one knows what the new normal looks like. The first two weeks we eased into staying home and working if we were fortunate enough to keep our jobs. Children were sent home from school with home-school becoming the parent’s responsibility. And then millions of people started losing their jobs.
COVID started creeping into every aspect of our lives.
Nothing is the same.
Every aspect of our lives has changed dramatically. The question is, “How do we move forward with our health, families, jobs, and economically survive as a nation?”
We have an opportunity to rethink our lives and gain a new perspective moving forward into the unknown.
- How do we revamp our lives when so much has been stripped away?
- How do we maintain our sanity while rebuilding a new life?
Crisis can bring much needed growth, life assessment, and recalibration. Having a proactive optimistic attitude and trusting God to make a way, one day at a time, can help you walk through the days ahead with confidence and peace.
Get a journal or a notebook and let’s rethink our lives together.
